Trip highlights

  • Discover the wonders of Tasmania's ancient Alpine Wilderness
  • Experience the exhilaration for jumping and floating through a series of canyons and cascades

Add even more excitement and adventure to your Cradle Mountain experience by joining this unique canyoning experience in the Lost World Canyon. While many enjoy the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park on foot, very few know about the parks hidden canyons which are some of the most spectacular and awe inspiring canyons in the world. This half-day adventure to The Lost World Canyon will allow you to enjoy the breathtaking upper section of the Dove River as you journey through quartzite gorges surrounded by a blanket of button-grass and ancient King Billy Pines. If you're lucky, you'll even spot a wandering wombat. Each canyoning tour is led by experienced, highly trained and skilled guides who have internationally recognised First Aid, Swiftwater Rescue and Abseiling qualifications. They will provide you with a thorough pre-trip briefing to ensure your trip through the canyon is both safe and fun. This trip is easily added to the 3 day Cradle Mountain Experience. For a challenging canyoning experience the full day Dove Canyon expedition is also available on request.
