Tasmania's only true alpine National Park was largely inaccessible to travellers in 2016 due to flooding, road closures and accessibility issues, Forestry Tasmania has announced that Mersery Forest Road, which provides access to the popular Walls of Jerusalem National Park, finally re-opened this month. With two options to explore the Walls of Jerusalem, travellers can experience the pristine wilderness on a four day or six day trek through remote alpine herb fields and highland lake country.

Our six day full-pack Walls Of Jerusalem Circuit showcases the regions spectacular mountain scenery, pristine wilderness as well as unique flora and fauna. From the initial base camp, trekkers spend two days exploring the surrounding peaks and valleys of the central northern Walls region. The Walls of Jerusalem Circuit provided a wonderful experience with magnificent scenery and invigorating walking across some tough terrain. Our guides (Brenton and Matilda) were very well organised and adaptable to the conditions, very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and navigated seamlessly to some areas we could not have gone on our own.
