Sometimes the best way to see the untamed, rugged and raw landscapes of a destination is to explore it on your own two feet. Our trekking with a full pack expeditions allow you to travel deep into some of Tasmania’s most remote areas far from signs of civilization. Picture spending your days traversing the wild and pristine wilderness with nothing but your gear on your back, the wind in your hair, and the soft crunch of the land underfoot. These expeditions are suitable for avid bushwalkers who have a high level of experience and fitness. You can expect to carry a full pack including your personal belongings as well as some food and camping equipment that can weigh between 15-18kgs. By travelling in this self sufficient way we’re getting well away from the main trails to discover true wilderness in the wildest and most remote regions of Tasmania. Trekking days can vary, but typically range from four to 10 hours a day depending on the grading. You can expect to pass through beautifully secluded regions, accessible only on foot, across steep, hard, unmarked and uneven terrain, in a variety of weather conditions; rain, hail or shine.

Trekking with a day pack

What better way to explore Tasmania’s spectacular landscapes than on foot? There are a number of walks in Tasmania that allow trekkers to explore the rugged and remote Tasmanian landscape, without the physical challenge of carrying a full pack. Our day pack treks either have a set campsite or accommodation that we return to each night, or include a luggage transfer service between campsites or accommodation, which means all you need to carry during the day is your snacks, water, rain jacket and camera! Our day pack trips are usually shorter, introductory style trips that give you an authentic trekking experience without breaking too much of a sweat. Best of all, all of our trips have as many inclusions as possible such as park fees, meals, accommodation and transport to and from the entry and exit points, so all you need to do is shoulder your pack and put one foot in front of the other and enjoy the adventure with your small group of like minded travellers.
